To pacify the anger of the general public after Navjot Singh Sidhu’s comments on the Pulwama terror attack, the channel on which The Kapil Sharma Show airs has released a teaser welcoming Archana Puran Singh as a mentor in place of the politician.
In the teaser, a surprised Kapil welcomes Archana Puran Singh. He asks her how come she is there on his show. Archana tells him that everyone she knows, including Krushna and Bharti, is here. She scolds him for forgetting her. Pointing at Navjot Singh Sidhu’s chair, she adds that it is the only ‘kursi’ she is familiar with.
Archana looks glamorous in a red off shouldered gown, while Kapil’s t-shirt matches the colour of her outfit. Kapil tells her he is immensely happy to have her back. Archana then rests herself on Sidhu’s giant chair.
The channel, on which the show airs, captioned the teaser as, “We welcome Archana Puran Singh on #TheKapilSharmaShow, next Sunday!” Take a look at the teaser:
The makers had called Archana to shoot for a few episodes even before the Pulwama terror attack as Sidhu wasn’t available. However, it is being reported now that Archana might fill in for the cricketer-turned-politician permanently as the public has turned against him.
When contacted, Archana had shared, “I had shot for TKSS on the 9th and 13th of February, a day before the unfortunate attacks happened. I was called in by the channel because Sidhu wasn’t available for those days for some personal work/ I agreed to shoot for the dates as I have done the same before. I think people are joining the wrong dots that I am replacing Sidhu because of the backlash. Well, also if that is true, I haven’t received any confirmation or information on the same from the channel yet.”
She had further added, “If I am truly needed for TKSS, then I will have to actually figure out how to adjust the dates because I am already shooting for ‘My Name Is Lakhan’ with Shreyas Talpade and also for another movie. I can only give clarity when I get it myself. Whether I would want to go ahead with TKSS or not is not the question, but will I be able to go ahead or not is the point. Let’s see.”
